Scarborough Lifts was set up in 1988 by Mr David Barker a lift engineer of 38 years experience primarily to work with the local care homes of the area initially specialising in servicing existing lifts and providing 24/7 emergency call out service backed up by an efficient high quality repair service. The services were essential to the efficient operation of the care homes then as they are today – local service response providing the highest quality of engineering are essential in the time of need.

The company is now in its 18th year, has grown to six mobile engineers, and expanded the work area to encompass Whitby, York, Hull and the east Riding of Yorkshire. We work closely with the local authority, hoteliers, residential flats, local retail, care homes and the elderly having installed some 90 lifts and responsible for the servicing and repair of 700 lifts in the work area. We offer consultancy advisory service to all disciplines within the construction industry.

Recent major projects include the Whitby Cliff Lift, the modernisation of Scarborough South Cliff Lift, and a high - speed passenger lift in the Crown Hotel with another now recently completed.
