Our product range has also expanded, besides hydraulic passenger and high - speed traction passenger lifts we can provide short travel platform lifts, food service lifts for restaurants, goods lifts through to straight and curved stair lifts for the elderly.
Our vision is to provide a well supported high quality affordable lift product that is installed to the highest standard on time, on budget, maintained and serviced all by your Local Lift Engineer.
The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 means that building owners can be liable to prosecution if they fail to provide adequate access to their premises for disabled people. Whether this means advising on your lift requirements, installing a brand new lift, or simply upgrading an existing one, we can help to ensure that you comply fully with the legislation.
New lifts
Standard passenger lifts will often provide an adequate and effective solution for most disabled access needs. However in some cases, a specialist system – such as a platform lift or a scissor lift – will be a more appropriate or cost-efficient way to provide access. We offer expert advice in this area and can source a wide range of practical solutions.
Upgrading existing lifts
If you need to upgrade an existing lift to conform to Disabled access requirements (adding Braille landing buttons or a voice synthesiser, for example), we can supply a wide range of modernisation components to help you complete the job. Some lifts can also be supplied with a self - supporting steel shaft (ideal for older buildings, as it eliminates the need to fix to brickwork or timber frames that may not be up to the task).
As well as supplying complete lift packages Scarborough Lifts can source component parts for most lifts to ensure quick resolution to the problem in most cases. We do however stock a minimum range of parts for repair or modernisation in our premises at Hopper Hill Road, Eastfield, Scarborough: this ranges from lift control panels to replacement buttons and fuses.
Visible Lifts
A lift is not always just about moving people. It can (and sometimes should) be a feature of the building in its own right. Glass lift can provide a combination of striking looks and perfect all-round visibility – ideal for making the most of an open hotel foyer or shopping atrium (The Brunswick Centre). Other lifts can be individually – manufactured to suit a particular architectural requirement or design style.
Stairlifts
Whatever your particular staircase or your personal requirements, Scarborough Lifts are confident that they can supply, install and support the stairlift that will satisfy your requirements precisely and when you require it, whether the staircase be straight or curved whether the stairlift requirement be for seated, standup or perch it doesn’t matter.
